The NGT rapped the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) and the UP government for not submitting adequate details on faecal coliform and other water quality parameters, such as oxygen levels, in the Ganga in Prayagraj. It granted the state government a week to place on record latest water quality analysis reports from different points of river at Maha Kumbh Mela site.

Monthly labour force surveys and a new release date for factory output data to reduce the time lag in the release are also in the offing by the government's statistics ministry, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) from the upcoming financial year.
